Higher was first written years ago as an ode to the rap/rock era of the 2000's, and went through several revisions in 2022. Higher was first written years ago as an ode to the rap/rock era of the 2000's, and went through several revisions in 2022. The track is a snapshot in time of the wild lifestyles of a group of friends growing up in west LA. In early February 2023, the day after the track was prepped for release, lead rapper "Dave" aka Kearnel Kinevil collapsed outside a restaurant due to ongoing health reasons. Kearnel sadly passed away before he could see the final version released.

Shocked and saddened by this event, producer Scott Rock and drummer/collaborator AlCo, both longtime friends of Kearnel, set out to make a video for the song that would match Kearnel's wild energy and free flowing spirit. The video took months to get right since no performance videos of either rapper had been made for the track. The only thing the group had were some still photos. The video incorporates deep-fake technology, 4D character animation and AI animation- in total around 5-10 different softwares were used to create the video.

It's assumed King Xtreme, the 2nd rapper on the track has also passed away as he has been unreachable by friends and family for some time.
